What is a Dedicated Server

A dedicated server is dedicated to one particular client and is not shared with other clients hosted in a data center. Unlike shared hosting environment where many clients share a space on a single server, dedicated server is having server resources reserved for one particular client of a server or of a cluster of servers where resources such as OS, HDD, and RAM etc. are dedicated to one particular client.

In terms of security, a dedicated server offers more control and a secure environment as there you can customize security policy accordingly to secure your data on the same. That is one feature why a dedicated server is preferred over a shared web space where security level may not be that much customizable for a single client. Also, you have better control of resources and its usage on a dedicated server where you can get to know about its performance and resource consumption all the time and  in a transparent manner and optimize it accordingly.

You can also be sure that your website and applications perform way better on a dedicated server than on a shared server as the resource availability is ensured unlike shared server where you’re dependent on other users as they may also be using the same available resources when at the same time your application or website demands bit more of it than what is available.
